The ‘flu season in South Africa starts on average in late May, but can begin anytime from late April to early July. It usually lasts for about 3 months, but can linger for as long as 6 months. So if you haven’t had obvious ‘flu during the winter, it’s still worth getting the vaccine done anytime up to November, especially if it’s been a bad ‘flu season like 2024’s.
