Extremely helpful thank you. I have been avoiding the vaccine for my 2 year old on the advice of my Mom who believes there are bad side effects. Can I still give it now or is it too late in the season?

Hi Ronel,

Yogurt is a reasonable alternative to a probiotic (and is in fact the origin of the probiotics revolution), provided it’s ‘live’ yogurt like Bulgarian or Greek, and not the flavoured sweet varieties which fill the supermarket shelves and are really just pudding, unless they state that there are live and active probiotics on the label.

With my toddler I have at times used yogurt instead of a probiotic. It seems to be effective.
